IIP is a national quality standard award which sets a level of good practice for improving an organisation's performance through its people. The programme is run by Investors in People UK who are responsible for its promotion, quality assurance and development through partnerships with Training and Enterprise Councils (TECS).
TMS attained the IIP standard in Spring 2001 following an eighteen month programme which involved making changes to the way in which staff were recruited, inducted, trained and developed. It also involved developing clear channels of communication throughout the company.
Paul Parkin, Managing Director, comments, "We are one of the few mailing houses in the UK to have achieved this standard. Mailing houses can be quite complex and from the outset we wanted to ensure that we were capable of delivering a very high quality service. We could only do this by creating an environment which supports the training and development of all our employees".
